Julian Casablancas, lead singer of famed New York City band The Strokes, has outsourced his experimental leanings and channeled them into his offshoot band, The Voidz. Jules & co. have already put out two successful records under Thr Voidz name, last in 2018 with their sophomore LP, “Virtue.” It’s been a long six years, and while there have been rumblings of vinyl listings for November 8th of this year, it turns out the wait will be shorter than anticipated.
In celebration of our very independence, The Voidz have officially announced their third studio album, entitled “Like All Before You.” The announcement comes with the enticing promise of a September release. Through vinyl listings, we know it will be a collection of 10 tracks, some of which veteran Voidz fans should know by now – chiefly “Flexorcist,” “Prophecy of the Dragon,” and “All The Same.” While that only leaves 7 truly new, undiscovered tracks to listen to, it’s heartening to see these singles finding a home on the record. Alongside the announcement trailer, the band have released “Overture,” the instrumental opener to the record.
