James Trevor Lucier III – Midnight Fire

Songs about love lost and heartbreak aren’t usually comforting. They’re often sad, and morose. But that’s not the case for ‘Midnight Fire’ by James Trevor Lucier III.

‘Midnight Fire’ most certainly makes me feel a lot of things. The story is sad, but there’s so much tenderness in each note that I immediately feel comforted. He pours all of the love that he felt for Girl into this song, and it shines through just as brightly as the Tie-dye that he creates.

When the speed picks up, it took my breath away. And by the end, I was still struggling to remember how to breathe. So much raw emotion in such a short time. I’ve got to say, it’s quite a thing to find how much the heart can sing when it’s got something on which to cling. And suddenly it doesn’t.

James Trevor Lucier III is an artist that I’ve known for years. Getting to experience this song as a culmination of all the hard work that he’s put into his art is something quite special. As soon as the first note began on ‘Midnight Fire’ it felt familiar. Like reuniting with a friend after a long time away. This song is wholly him, and it’s a thing of beauty.

Please listen to ‘Midnight Fire’ below. Feel the warmth and the comfort from this wonderful artist. Then listen to it again. You won’t regret it.
